Privacy Policy

The short version

We collect only what we need to run your account, keep the app stable, and show ads on the free plan — and nothing else. We never sell or share your data with anyone. Most of Luanode runs entirely on your computer — your projects, the visual editor, and the local Studio bridge (127.0.0.1:7777) never leave your machine. The things that do use the network are: sign-in and license check-ins, anonymous usage & crash info (to improve stability), sponsor messages (free plan), and — only if you turn it on — optional AI features. Details below.

Who we are

"Luanode" (the desktop app, the Studio plugin, and this site) is operated by the Luanode team. You can reach us at Support@luanode.com. Luanode is an independent tool and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Roblox Corporation.

What we collect and why

• Sign-in & license check-ins. You sign in with Google; we receive your email address (from Google) and bind your license to a machine fingerprint (a hashed identifier derived from your hardware). When you open the app it verifies your license, and re-checks occasionally while running (about every few hours), sending that email + machine fingerprint. We use this only to run your account, keep your license valid, and prevent one license from being shared across many machines. We never see what you build.
• App stability & improvement. When you save a project, the app sends minutes used and the app version (keyed to your account) so we know what to fix and improve. If the app crashes it writes a local luaflow_crash.log; nothing is uploaded automatically — a crash report is sent only if you tap "Send". We never receive your projects.
• Sponsor messages (free plan). The free app shows sponsor cards served from our own server. We count anonymous views and clicks (an ad id only — no email, no profile) and use your country (from your device's language setting — not GPS or IP geolocation) to show region-appropriate ads. No third-party ad networks and no tracking profiles are involved. Pro removes ads entirely.
• Optional AI features. If you choose to use the AI assistant or AI planner, the app sends your prompts, the relevant project code, and the API key you configured directly to the AI provider you selected (Anthropic, OpenAI, or a local model). This happens only when you actively use those features. We do not receive, store, or proxy that traffic — it goes from your machine to your chosen provider, whose own privacy policy then applies. If you don't want this, simply don't configure or use the AI features.
• Waitlist. If you join the waitlist, we store the email address you provide so we can tell you when builds are ready. We delete it on request.
• Crash logs. If the app crashes it writes a local luaflow_crash.log file on your computer. Nothing is uploaded automatically — it's only shared if you choose to send it to us for support.
• Your projects. Project files, generated code, and editor settings are stored locally on your computer. We never receive them.

We never sell or share your data

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with anyone, and we do not use third-party ad networks or tracking/advertising profiles. The only ways your data reaches another company are the unavoidable, standard ones below — and the AI case only if you turn AI on.

Third parties

We rely on a small number of services: Google (Sign in with Google — Google verifies your identity and gives us your email), our hosting provider for the website and license server, and — only when you enable AI — the AI provider you choose. When you use AI features, the chosen provider's privacy terms apply to your prompts and code: Anthropic or OpenAI. If you point the app at a local model instead, that traffic never leaves your machine.

Retention and your choices

• Email us at Support@luanode.com to access or delete the email/license data we hold.
• Turn AI features off (or never configure a key) to stop any prompt/code from leaving your machine.
• The desktop app shows you a one-time data notice on first run, summarising the check-ins and AI egress above.

Children

Luanode is a developer tool intended for people building Roblox experiences, not a service directed at young children. If you believe a child has provided us personal data (e.g. via the waitlist), contact us and we'll remove it.

Changes

We'll update this page as the product changes and note the date at the top. Continuing to use Luanode after an update means you accept the revised policy. Questions? Email Support@luanode.com.
